First Ride of the Year

Although each BWAH “Ride For Cheer” is unique and special in its own right, the first ride of the season has a special, sweet, “inaugural” character. Although living in Maine has many wonderful advantages and opportunities, the climate does not allow for a particularly long riding season. The first “Ride For Cheer” usually marks the much-longed-for end of wintertime hibernation, yielding a special enthusiasm for a new BWAH season and riding year. It’s always good to see the emergence of familiar, friendly and enthusiastic faces on the day of the first ride!

A Surprised Girl

Although a little overcast, we were blessed with a nice day to visit our May ’04 BWAH recipient, Maranda in Biddeford. Although Maranda was somewhat familiar with BWAH, (having attended a friend Liz’s event last year), the family wanted to keep this a surprise. Precious was her look of surprise and wonder when 20+ motorcycles pulled up into her yard with a police escort! She was ecstatic!

New Laughs

Pam Bailey, (a.k.a. “cousin clementine”), a humorist from Biddeford, came along and provided colorful humor and hilarious one-liners. She also presented Maranda with the “Certificate of Proclamation”, read for the first time with a unique “southern twang”. We hope that Pam will continue to come along the “Rides For Cheer”, providing an extra hearty dose of humor and laughter. The grab-bag was presented by Dusty, with his usual flare. All in all, the mood was festive and joyous! Surprise Pizza Party

Surprise Pizza Party

Although our satisfaction is ensured by the receptive and happy expressions of Maranda and her family, (as we seek no more gratification than that), the family insisted on throwing a surprise pizza party for the BWAH bikers. How can one say “thank you for a thank you?” Thank you for your kind hospitality!

Next Ride

Please mark in your calendars the second Sunday in June for the next BWAH “Ride For Cheer”. Once again, our heartfelt thanks to Ltnt. Gary Fecteau and the BWAH Road Captains for ensuring a safe “Ride For Cheer”

Remember, ride safe and…
